I’m Shannon

The Rooted Writer blog is for those who want clarity from emotional and mental burnout, helping you gently reset from exhaustion to calmness and wellness.

Here, you will find a quiet space fostering gentle wellness, with evidence-based resources written by a seasoned nurse with 22+ years of experience to help you reset from high-functioning burnout.

My experience as a nurse includes Emergency and Behavioral Health. I have worked with many people who experience acute and chronic distress relating to mental, physical, and emotional health.

My nursing background led me to blogging to extend my education to many people rather than just one person at a time.

When I am not writing, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two little furbabies, whether it’s going for a walk in nature, a trip to the beach, or attending festivals in the wonderful state of Florida. A cup of java fuels me in the morning, and soothing herbal tea relaxes me as the day ends. Fun fact about me – I love the thrill of skydiving and therapeutic gardening. Every hobby has its place!
